Our Black Dilemma
writes, " As a black man I am proud of the values that my parents taught me. This is now my responsibility to teach my family. I read about the Million Man March to Washington DC but I don’t need Louis Farrakhan or any other man to take me to the Nations capital, to remind me of my responsibility to my family. "
As a black man I am proud of the values that my parents taught me. This is now my responsibility to teach my family. I read about the Million Man March to Washington DC but I don’t need Louis Farrakhan or any other man to take me to the Nations capital, to remind me of my responsibility to my family.
My father often said “son, never cut off your nose to spite your face” and I’ll never forget “closing the barn door after the horse is out” – or “don’t throw the baby out with the bath water”. My brothers and sisters look what we’re doing! We burn down our own neighborhood to protest police violence. The white man brings drugs into our community, we organize gangs to protect territories and when the territory it violated we do drive by shootings, killing our black kids playing in the streets or the grandmother sitting on the front porch minding her own business. Is this the master’s plan? While white men and others who hate blacks are having a field day watching us destroy each other.
