It is estimated that 1 in 4 black girls will be sexually abused before the age of 18. Many forms of abuse comes from fathers, grandfathers, brothers and uncles.
· For every one White women who reports her rape, 15 do not.
· In the National Violence against women survey. 18.8% of black women had been raped.

| Our Black Dilemma |
|
As a black man I am proud of the values that my parents taught me. This is now my responsibility to teach my family. I read about the Million Man March to Washington DC but I don’t need Louis Farrakhan or any other man to take me to the Nations capital, to remind me of my responsibility to my family.

| Our Young People |

I asked him why aren’t you in school, why are u choosing to sell drugs? He then said because being in school is not going to pay my rent next month, or my car insurance, its not going to help me feed the baby I have on the way, but this stuff right here referring to the drug, is easy money, its not a 9 to 5 job, and I don’t have to sit in a boring class all day.

By the year of 1983 I had raised 3 children. In 1988 an unexpected arrival came into my life, a precious baby girl. At the age of 48, it was a huge decision for my wife and I to take on another child, because taking on another child, meant no long vacations...
